Topic 3 - Social technographics


Topic 3 was my favourite topic in the course because it gave me the main ideas of how social media marketing works. The most valuable learning outcome for me in this topic was the classification of different types of social media users into 6 types. The first type are inactives or people who do not participate in social media at all. Then there are spectators who use social media as if they were just surfing the Net, in other words they just read the content created by others. Joiners, another type, join online communities such as Facebook. Collectors bookmark websites and collect information for their own interest or gain. Critics, still another type of users of social media are active participants of blogs and forums, while creators are the main asset of social media platforms, they create new content, setting up blogs and websites.

Topic 2 - Digital Identity

Digital identity was the subject of Topic 2. The most important learning outcome for me was that we need to safeguard any personal details and should go to great lengths to protect them. There are several ways to do that. The first is staying away from sharing your personal details and private information altogether altogether. This form of self-imposed self-isolation will definitely insure that nobody’s eyes will find our much about you.

Another way to protect your privacy is to heighten the privacy setting on social media platforms like Facebook. This approach allows you to continue socializing on the Web and at the same time avoid many of the problems of personal information becoming available to people you did not want to share it with.

Topic 1: Introduction to Social Media Marketing


Social media is among the most exciting things out there. Few courses can complete for being as trendy as Social Media Marketing. However, it is not its trendiness that makes me think it’s the coolest course in the world, it is its implications for my future.
I am a young person now and I expect social media marketing to be where future growth will lie. I believe this area of marketing is still underdeveloped now and more money can be found in it.
There are many characteristics of social media which make it a distinct field. Some of these are:
1-      Reliance on lists
2-      Sense of humor
3-      Medium length, not short and not long
4-      Catchy titles
These and other characteristics of social media show that it is not as formal as web 2.0, eMarketing, or word of mouth marketing. o it is more appealing for people. Examples are blogs and videos on social networks.



When dealing with social media channels, parents should control the behavior of children. They should make sure that they benefit to the best. It will work if there is good control from parents and satisfaction from children. Otherwise it will lead to negative results for both. So the idea is positive on the above mentioned conditions.



The advantage of reactance theory for marketers is that it allows them to involve humanities in their marketing. It ,makes them understand the customers more and thus satisfy their needs, which increases the sales. This can be for example in the idea of feedback from customers.
